WHAT “EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS” MEAN (FOR ARTISTS & PRODUCERS)
When you sell a beat with exclusive rights, you are making a one-time sale that gives the buyer sole and exclusive control over how that beat is used.
In practical terms, this means:
✅ What the buyer gets
The buyer receives the exclusive right to:
-
Use the beat for recording songs
-
Distribute and monetise the music worldwide
-
Perform the music publicly
-
Use the beat for commercial purposes
-
Prevent others from using the same beat
❌ What you (the producer) give up
After an exclusive sale:
-
You cannot resell the beat to anyone else
-
You cannot licence the beat again (exclusive or non-exclusive)
-
You cannot upload or list the beat on other platforms
-
You cannot use the beat in new projects unless agreed in writing
🛑 Important
If you previously sold or licensed the beat elsewhere, you must not upload it as exclusive on UNDERPOUND.
Uploading a beat as exclusive while it is already licensed or sold elsewhere may result in:
-
Removal of the beat
-
Account suspension or termination
-
Legal liability for breach of contract or copyright infringement
